Regions
What is Regionalism?
Regionalism centers on increasing the region's influence through collaboration and provides the framework to connect our land use to our transportation systems, preserve our environment and sustain our economic prosperity.
The geographic focus of Redwood Coast Rural Action is the redwood coast region of northern California and includes Del Norte, Trinity, Humboldt and Mendocino Counties. These four counties form a well-defined natural region filled with world class wonders and share a remote and isolated rural geography.
"California revolutionized the world with the silicon chip, they could do the same with forest management."
Mike Fay,
National Geographic
Explorer in Residence
"We need a new generation of regional stewards, who first of all have a deep responsibility about their regions. They want it to thrive economically, be sustainable environmentally and to have a web of mutual obligations and trust that makes possible the accomplishment of group purpose."
John W. Gardner
